Ingredients

  • 4 ripe to overripe bananas
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • tsp vanilla essence

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven at 350°F.
  • Peel the bananas and mash to desired consistency.
  • Melt butter in the microwave.
  • Mix butter with mashed bananas.
  • Add the sugar and incorporate.
  • Repeat for the buttermilk and vanilla essence.
  • Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder).
  • Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and combine.
  • Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix fully.
  • Pour the runny batter into a prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
  • Remove from loaf pan to cool.
