Lavender syrup

Lavender syrup is absolutely delightful and adds such a soothing, floral flavor to your pancakes, coffee, cocktails and mocktails. You only need 3 ingredients and a little over an hour to make this wonderful syrup.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 ½ tbsp dried lavender buds

Instructions

  • Place a small saucepan on medium heat.
  • Add water and sugar to the pot
  • Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
  • Bring to a boil (about 3 minutes).
  • Turn the heat to low.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add the lavender buds to the pot.
  • Cover the pot.
  • Leave to steep for 1 hour.
  • Remove the cover. Strain the syrup.
  • Cool completely.
  • Use immediately or pour into a sanitized container and refrigerate.
