Red Snapper Recipes: 6 Incredible Recipes to Try!
Red snapper is certainly a favorite of mine since I was a child. The fish has a light, flaky, slightly sweet taste and absorbs all the seasoning goodness you use with it.
Growing up, my mom usually fried snappers that were marinated with Caribbean herbs and spices. They were always so good! She often made fish broth (soup) too.
But there are tons of other ways to use the fish. So, here are some delicious red snapper recipes to make today.

1. Fried red snapper recipe
My fried red snapper recipe is pretty similar to my mom’s and tastes herbaceous and amazing. I usually coat whole red snappers (2lbs) with Caribbean green seasoning and pan fry for at least 3 minutes per side.
If you are using larger fish, that frying time will increase so you can achieve the safe internal temperature of about 145°F.

2. Baked red snapper recipe
These baked snapper fillets from Grits and Pinecones bring together crunchy textures with the delicate, flaky fish. They are so good!
The recipe explains the process of coating the fillets with mayo and lemon, applying seasoned Panko breadcrumbs and baking on low for about 20 minutes. Give it a try!

3. Grilled red snapper
Inger from Art of Natural Living has a great grilled whole red snapper recipe. It’s actually a 30 minute one! So quick and easy!
She explains how to create a simple herb rub to lather on the red fish. Then, she gets into the details of grilling the fish in a grill rack. It looks delish paired with roasted veggies and pasta.

4. Red snapper escovitch
Here’s another red snapper recipe with Caribbean influence, particularly Jamaican influence. Escovitch, a derivative of the Spanish word for marinated, is a tasty fish dish served with a beautifully seasoned, spicy vinegar sauce with veggies.
This recipe from Carne Diem explains two ways of prepping the fish (either fried or grilled) and shows how to make that unique escovitch sauce with bell peppers, scotch bonnets, red wine vinegar and spices.

4. Pan seared red snapper recipe
If you are looking for an easy recipe that has great flavor, this one from Chapagne Tastes is perfect for you. You just need a little salt and pepper to season and olive oil and butter to sear the fish.
It doesn’t stop there though. The leftover fat is heated with lemon juice, capers and fresh herbs and poured over the fish before serving. Simple, citrusy, delightful fish!

5. Roasted whole red fish
This is another one of my yummy roasted red snapper recipes. Like before, these whole red snappers were seasoned with Caribbean herbs and lemon slices. I wrapped them in banana leaves and added them to the BBQ grill to roast until perfectly cooked.
Banana leaves actually add a subtle tasty flavor to food and you can really taste it with this recipe. It’s amazing.

6. Snapper pie
If you are a big fan of pies, you’ll definitely enjoy this snapper pie from ChefsPencil with slow braised veggies. It’s made with kataifi pastry and the fish is cooked amongst the beautiful slow braised fennel, onion, beans and veggies. It’s worth the effort for sure!
